David L. Janvier, M.A. LPC, CST, GPCM

Janvier Counseling & Consultant

 David Janvier earned a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and  has been counseling for over a decade.  Licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Licensed Professional Counselor,  David obtained post-graduate work and certification in Sex Therapy through The Institute For Sexual Wholeness at Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta and he is a Gestalt Pastoral Care Minister. David holds membership with the American Board of Christian Sex Therapists and the American Association of Christian Counselors, The Christian Association for Psychological Study and the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health and has obtained advanced training in Gestalt Therapy from the Gestalt Institute of Pittsburgh and in Gestalt Pastoral Care.


In addition to offering therapy, David enjoys speaking, teaching and training in various venues. He provides clinical training for therapist in obtaining Continuing Education Credits, he taught at several colleges and universities as a guest lecturer and he is adjunct faculty with Liberty University assisting with the Human Sexuality Course for the Master's of Counseling Program. David has presented at a number of academic conferences, churches and schools. He frequently teaches in churches integrating faith and healing.

Jim Weidenaar

Harvest USA , Pittsburgh

Jim understands God's grace, because he has experienced it in his own life.  Born and raised in Michigan, he completed his undergraduate work at Calvin College, and then went to Calvin Seminary where he earned a Masters in Theological Studies Degree. While in seminary,  Jim married his wife Deb.  They spent the first year of married life doing an internship in Haiti.  Following seminary Jim and Deb lived in Illinois sand Michigan where Jim was a pastoral intern and elder.  He also painted houses and managed a paint store.  Following God's call to pursue further theological study, Jim and Deb relocated to Philadelphia.  Jim participated in the Ph.D. program at Western Seminary and helped managed the Westminister Seminary bookstore.  2011 he graduated with a Ph.D. in Systematic Theology.

Dr. Robert A.J. Gagnon

Pittsburgh Theological Seminary


Robert Gagnon is Associate Professor of New Testament Studies Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.   He has a B. A. degree from Dartmouth College, an M.T.S. from Harvard Divinity School, and a P.H.D. from Princeton Theological Seminary.   His main fields of interest are Pauline theology and sexual issues in the Bible.  He is the author of The Bible and Homosexual Practice, and co author with Dan O. Via of Homosexuality and the Bible: Two Views.   He is an ordained elder at a Presbyterian Church (USA) in Pittsburgh.  As a service to the church, he provides a large amont of free material on the web dealing with Scripture and homosexuality.

Jo Anne Crough received a Masters in Counseling from The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and has additional credits in Counseling from Waynesburg College's Graduate and Professional Studies Program.  She is a licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and serves as the Regional Manager for Meier Clinics in PA.  Her experience encompasses working with adults and mood disorders, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, marriage counseling, sexual abuse, trauma, stress disorders, and she speaks on a variety of topics.

Gary and Lynn Harbison

Parents of Adult Children


The Harbison’s are members of the Cabot U M Church in Cabot, PA where they serve in a variety of ministries. Gary currently leads the monthly men’s gathering, Men of Integrity and coordinates the Concordia Bus Ministry. Lynn is retired as their Director of Program Ministries. The Harbison’s oversee a resource / prayer ministry for parents of adult children which includes support for those who have loved ones in a gay lifestyle.

Lynn has a degree in Pastoral/Christian Ministries from Geneva College.  Gary and Lynn were the directors of The Shepherds Place, a ministry for both recovering addicts and family members attending Cabot  U.  M.  Church. She attended the 2006 Exodus International Conference in Indiana and organized the Pittsburgh area conference called, Homosexuality and the Church’s Responsibility. Together Gary and Lynn have attended the "I Do Exist” conference and various other seminars and workshops dealing with sexual brokenness. Gary and Lynn are members of the Bravehearts family support group and have a son involved in the gay lifestyle.

Marcia Brennan has attended Exodus, Love Won Out, Regeneration, PFOX, Leanne Payne, and Mario Bergner conferences and attended classes with Andrew Comiskey and Dallas Brown.  She has hosted and been on the planning board of several Sexual Wholeness seminars, taught as a leader in the Living Waters Program for four years, and is the director of the Western PA. Sexual Wholeness Network.  Bravehearts is a support group for families struggling with same-sex attraction or SSA, and is a PFOX affiliate.

Sandy Wilson

Leader Lazarus Center

For nearly 20 years, Sandy has been affiliated directly and indirectly with ministries dealing with sexual and relational brokenness.  She has found herself in various cities around the country and Canada speaking of her love of Christ and giving testimony to the wonderworking miracle working power of Christ through the cross and through prayer and through her music.  Her testimony topics include; confused idenity issues, a devasting fire and divorce recovery.

She serves on the leadership board as Spiritual Advisor of Pittsburgh West Women's Coonference's and Director of Women Ministries at the Lazarus Center in Imperial, PA.  She served many yearson on the worship team at St. Stephens Church and now is a member of North Way Community Church, Sewickley Campus.
She has had many occasions to help individuals who have struggled with unwanted same sex attraction as well as helping family and friends of ssa individuals.
 Her emphasis is always helping those bring the love of Christ into the situations.

EnCourage, Stubenville

"A newly-formed EnCourage group is now meeting in the Diocese of Steubenville, OH. The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Steubenville area. EnCourage is an affiliate of Courage/EnCourage International Ministry ( It is a support group for family members, spouses, and friends of men and women with same-sex attractions (SSA). Based on the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, EnCourage members meet to support one another, and to grow in their ability to assist their loved ones in healing and personal wholeness.

The Way Out, directed by Betty Kalbes, is a ministry located in Columbiana, Ohio providing support for those dealing with homosexuality.   Ministry groups include support meetings for men and women who struggle with unwanted same sex attractions, parents of strugglers and spouses of those who struggle.  For more inforomation go to

Doris and Dan Cush


Doris is a knowledgable and gifted writer and teacher.  Her passion is to encourage women with the truth of God's word.    Doris has a heart dedicated to serving those who struggle with sexual brokeness of all kinds.  She currently resides in Pittsburgh and has been active with the Vineyard Church of Southwest Pittsburgh for 8 years.  Doris is available to speak at women's events and small groups.

Dan led a Living Waters Program for 12 years.  At this time on sabatical, his "Such Were Some Of You" ministry was an affliate of Exodus.  An associate pastor at the Vineyard Church of Southwest Pittsburgh,  Dan is available to take calls and continue to minister to the sexually broken.

Every Man's Battle   You Are Not Alone

Greg Heibert is the leader of Every Man's Battle which is a group of committed men who are serious about sexual purity and integrity.  This group provides accountability, biblical tools, practical habits and real life testimonies of men who have overcome sexual temptation.  This group discusses profound tools to help you overcome your personal struggles through the power of Jesus Christ.  We all share a common bond of transparency which helps undo the power that lust seems to have over so many men.  They meet every Tuesday at 7:30pm at the North Way Christian Communuty,  Wexford campus.

Rev. Asa Sherman


Asa Sherman is available to tell of his own journey toward understanding and overcoming same-sex attraction.  As a pastor, he is especially interested in helping other pastors and churches to be agents of hope and healing for those who struggle sexually and relationally.  Location: South-central and South-western PA. Wendy embraced God's calling to make a change in her life in 2001. Even though she had been in the lifestyle for 17 years she has been blessed with His healing, His presence and His peace.  She currently is a leader in a 12-step recovery ministry, which includes outreach to those struggling with sexual and relationship issues.
