Tim Geiger
Tim, on staff with Harvest USA since 2003, is Director of Greater Pittburgh Region of Harvest USA. He has been involved with Harvest USA since 1997. Initially, he came for ministry, battling a twenty-year struggle with homosexuality and pornography. All that while, he had been actively involved in ministry with his church, but was leading a double life. On the surface, he was the obedient, “faithful” Christian, but under the surface, he felt completely out of control and discouraged. He was unable to reconcile the truth of Scripture with the pain and fear in his heart. After years of knowing Christ, Tim at last began to understand Christ and his love. Through God’s grace, Tim began to understand that it was the deceitfulness and rebelliousness of his heart that was leading him to sin, and that there was hope for change - not in what he could do, but in who Jesus Christ is and what he has done. This began a process of surrender and trust in Christ that has been at times, excruciating and exposing, but also beautiful beyond belief. Tim’s mission is to share this same hope and truth in Christ with others who want freedom from sexual brokenness in order that they, too, might be able to walk in repentance. He works with local churches, campus ministries, and individuals to help them learn how to minister the love of God to men, women and young people who are struggling with sexual brokenness. Tim did his undergraduate work at Community College of Philadelphia and has a Master of Divinity Degree from Westminster Theological Seminary. He is currently going through the ordination process with the Presbyterian Church in America. Other than Harvest USA, Tim’s professional experience comes from careers with the Internal Revenue Service and the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals. Tim and his wife, Susan, live in Pittsburgh with their daughter.
Ron Hobelman
The ministry IntegritydotMen began in 1991 when a group of six men from one local church desired to honestly acknowledge and confront their own failures and sins as Christians. The struggles of these men ranged from sexual fantasy to XXX-rated pornography, from multiple sexual partners (heterosexual and/or homosexual) to other co-addictive behaviors. At that time there were secular programs for men but very little existed within a Christian framework. So the first IntegritydotMen (originally called "Pursuing Sexual Wholeness") became a 12-step group using Patrick Carnes' book Out of the Shadows and A Gentle Path Through the 12 Steps. With the influence of Leanne Payne's "Pastoral Care Ministry" books, Broken Image and Crisis in Masculinity; Mario Bergner's "Redeemed Lives Ministry" and book, Setting Love in Order; Andy Comisky's "Desert Streams Ministry" and manual, Pursuing Sexual Wholeness; and the book Wild at Heart by John Eldredge, IntegritydotMen has evolved to what it is today. Ron Hobelman is the director of IntegritydotMen. He oversees a year-long program divided into three 12-week trimesters which typically begin in September, January, and May. Men wanting to get involved can do so at any time. Group make-up includes men from different social, economic, and religious backgrounds. Some are, or have been, leaders, elders and pastors in their churches. Some are referrals from local counseling networks and agencies. Confidentiality is key.
